Bar-Le-Duc FranceBar-Le-Duc is the lower, more modern and busier part of the town that is surrounded by wooded or vine-clad hills. Its has several bridges that give passage to the town, and is located near the Marne-Rhine Canal. Most of the town is known for its quiet Medieval appearance, but it does get a lot of tourism running through it.
Many consider Bar-le-Duc to be unimportant until the 10th century when it became the residence of the counts. Later it grew up to become the neighboring town of the dukes of Lorraine.
Gentle ClimateBar-le-Duc has an average temperate range of the low 30's during the winter, and gets as high as the 80's in the summer. The weather is pretty consistent and doesn't have 'wild' days like some other areas.
Th rainfall is pretty average year round. Rain each month can be from 15 inches to as high as 25 inches. Overall, the climate is normal and has a gentle change through each season.
Medieval-que TourismMuch of the town is known for its very medieval-esque appearance, even into the homes of people. Everything from the Notre-Dame Bridge to the Saint-Etienne church is often visited by people. People enjoy the tour the city for its quiet comforts along with its beautiful exterior and interior designs.
More so then not, though, this is a place for people to live in peace and quiet away from the bustle of the cities. The communities are tight knit and many enjoy the relax times year round.
